Thank you to everyone cheering us on! We left a little early and had a good trip down. Wr only had the the low fuel light on once! lol We got here in time to unpack and check some properties out. We actually made a few sets which we weren’t planning to do until New Years morning. Now the first set day turned into the first check day! Just coming back from my first Kansas trapping adventure. Steep learning curve for this Minnesota boy but had an absolute blast. Great people and great weather for the two weeks I was there. Catch average was quite impressive too. Sort of make trapping back home down right boring! Good luck guys and safe travels! We have always enjoyed trapping out here. Our catch numbers have never big but we always have a blast!

Good luck to you guys! Seen you going thru seneca ks at 1:20pm today I was setting at a stop sign waiting to pull out on 36 highway, recognized your trailer as you went by. You should have honked! we would have certainly stopped to chat with you for a few minutes! It rained a good portion of the trip but once we got to Kansas. the trip down 36 was beautiful! thanks for following! Now we are sitting here ready to make the first breakfast and get the line started. It’s go time!

What part of KS are you trapping at? PM me if you like. Looking at that one rock in one pic, I'd guess slightly east of north central KS, tight to the Nebraska line

What part of KS are you trapping at? PM me if you like. We are in North Central Kansas. The majority of our trapping is in Republic County but we have some other spots too.

Mark posted earlier in this thread that they are mostly in Republic County. 81 and 36 cross almost dead center of Republic Co.

Today was our first teal set day. Between us we have about 45 sets out . They are spread over different properties as we want to make our net big but not too fine. This will keep us working different animals rather than trapping consecutive properties where it is the same critters working through. If you were to draw a box that contained all of our sets in it on a map, it would have to be 10 miles long by 9 miles wide.

FYI, jewel county Kansas and northern edges of central Kansas are under a winter weather advisory this weekend, along with our southern Nebraska areas, Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. Heavy mix of rain and snow. Some parts could get 6” to 8” of snow. Be safe guys! Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
