Do any of you put footholds for K9 under or around your pole sets?
Are there any cons other than possibly eating you marten while they're in the trap?
I have numerous K9 tracks under my pole set, guessing they're coming in for the gusto, put up a couple of snares kinda close but new tracks did a couple of circles are under the box.
Thanks

Ya can't miss fur if yur traps are out somewhere.
Or so I've been told.

Chain them off so the traps can't go closer to the pole than where you set it (chain off away from the pole, stretch the chain almost tight, then set)

Put it on a chain or cable with a lock maybe?

Yes I do. They are usually curious young animals that check out Gusto or other Marten lures. Put the traps out at the beginning of the season if you want to catch them. I put my lure on a dry duck wing that swings in the wind and get's pulled at the end of each season. Usually coyote, fox and lynx.

I trap in snow so this is how it goes mostly.
They come a lot one time. (Should of set before the season if you want them.)
Some visit twice. (Mostly a waste of time to add traps unless in wolverine country.)
Rare that one comes three times. (I think it's just another young litter mate from nearby mostly.)

Put them all on drags and set them when you set up the Marten line. You should pick up a couple extra critters. If not on drags, use ATT"s advice above. And padlocks work great, remember the key!

My Super Wide will pull your broken down 4 stroke, up a hill backwards, with you on it!
