little beggar decided likes to eat water lines. Had a near miss near miss with a rat tap. Hope not trap shy now.

My experience with them is they are a bit paranoid. A blended in #3 with light pan tension with corn or peanut butter on the pan is bad medicine for them.

Weasel boxes along walls work well ,pet proof and with a one and half or #2 inside light pan tension and it just kills em.

grin I played a fun game with one years ago. He liked stealing my gardening utensils from my shed. I found his nest in my woodshed. Filled with all my shiny utensils. I stole them back . Put them back in my garden shed. He would steal them again . We did this several times. To me it was a fun game to see how stubborn he was.

Then one morning I heard a scuffling noise and saw him on the wood beam inside my cabin, staring down at me from the small hole he found to enter.

Well that was the end game . I didn't want him exploring anymore, I set a rat trap on the shelf where me garden tools were. I caught him in under 20 minutes.

Eating water lines isn't good...you'll get him, Pete.

1 1/2 cs with light tension on a gang plank baited with cat food. Levers parallel with plank, I'd have taken the near side lever off (I don't have a #1 ls), but didn't think about it until later. I tried everything else I could think of, got it 1st night after this set. Good luck!

LOL Sharon, this particular packrat was already on my bad side before the waterline fiasco. Where he ate the waterline is in my laundry room. Last summer, I had a box of clothespins on a shelf above the washer. There was at least 100 of them, maybe more. The good, old-fashioned peg kind with the round heads.

One day I went up to do laundry and it had been several days since I'd done any. I reached into the box to get clothespins to hang out the laundry, and the box was completely empty!!! He stole them ALL in a matter of a few days. I never found them. frown

She wore scarlet begonias, tucked into her curls. I knew right away, she was not like other girls.

I've also caught them in small box traps. drop some corn on the ground and lay the box trap over it, with the bait pan covering the corn.

be careful about using poison bait. it needs to be secured well so they can't steal it. Otherwise they'll relocate the poison and eventually a pet may find it.

I had one in a shed awhile back making piles of double headed nails all over the place that he was getting out of an old box of them. I cut a hole in the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket for a 110 and put some of his nails in there behind the trap. Had him 2 days later.

I use a 120 in a marten box with a pan trigger. Same bait I use in DPs. A little dry cat food with a smattering of spoonbill oil on it.

One year Bob Jameson wanted me to catch him a bunch of pack rats. I built about 30 weasel boxes. Couldn't hardly get a rat in the wild go in one no matter what I tried. Still got them out in the shed. Even tried removing the end and top. Still didn't have much luck. Had to go back to the #3s to fill the order. Kind of humbling. Could catch coyotes pretty well but was getting schooled by a rodent

I know your pain, I was just about ready to back an anhydrous tank up to my shop and do some fumigating! That, or dynamite. Lol
