My 12 valve is right around there somewhere (odometer quit a few years ago) it says 447,xxx but it's not right

I always check my 5.7 for mileage when I go back to the home area to my wife’s family. I threw some Lucas fuel treatment in with the last tank and got 19.9. I checked the math three times. 55-60 tops on the highway mixed with some gravel while bird hunting. Couldnt believe it. Still not sold on the reliability, as Ive had a lot go wrong with this pickup, which is a 13. Major engine problems at 110,000 and all kinds of electronic issues. But glad to see the mileage increase, usually 15-17.

I purchased it in 2004, and it had right at 100,000 miles on it when I bought it. So, I put the last 627,000 miles on it.

Sad thing is those 5.7's are built right here in Huntsville, Al. Good motor's for a long time but for some reason all car companies decided to go back to making 70's junk. I'll be the proud owner a new 2025 silverado next week, beating around in a old 2018 at the moment and dreading getting in the new piece of crap, it MIGHT last 3 years if im lucky! All the 2020's are already in the junk yard.

Paul, if you get a moment, please post a pic of the one with 700 thousand on it! Like to see what it looks like. Thats the same one that you changed the tranny in, and had some difficulty a couple years back, isn’t it? New one looks nice, I’m still ushering around my old 98 Taco!
