Angela, they do like clothespins. Especially the blue plastic ones . I kept mine in my garden shed too in a bag.

Dave, it was funny and fun to play with him a bit. I didn't mind that he was there until he found his way into my cabin. Staring at me like I was being scolded.

I knew what he was really up to. Casing out the joint to see what else he could lift and steal !

Messing with my truck would have been lights out immediately.

Caught two just the other day in half a bag of feed. I guess they got fat and couldn’t complete the jump back out. I twisted them in and punched them down.

I've had good luck using 5x5 duke cage traps set along a wall or something else that guides them.

Hair-trigger on a DP with just enough cat food to cover the trigger. When I get bait stealers I’ll set that trigger very very light and thin them out. Works on cotton rats, guessing it would on a pack rat.

I like cage traps baited with what they are eating,,,,,sitting in aluminum foil……
Sometimes covering it helps.

So far a no show but fought some for a spell in my skinning shed. I did cover the water line with hardware cloth though.

I found a big ol pack rat den the other day on a place I have some cat/yote sets on.
I may have to give this a try when the weather straightens up some
