Unfortunately today’s world the person may only end up with a slap on the wrist for it. Had a guy release a coyote from one of my traps he got tore up and I had video of him admitting to doing so but I think he ended up with just a talking to for he had dementia or something like that. Depending on the warden unfortunately is how far some cases will go in defense of a trapper in this state.

I ran hounds for close to 25 years and never had an issue with trappers.

As sportsmen (and women) we all need to stick together. I'm not a fan of hound hunters myself but will go to it for them if they where to ask me. Unfortunately they won't go to bat for me when I asked for support on voting no on a potential bill in regards to snares and body grips.

In 2005 they fought to take away the 2.5” deer stop and replace it with the 4.25” hound stop and they succeeded!!

You can see by my post count that I do not post very often. However, I do alot of reading on this forum and felt compelled to reply to this thread with an update.

I just got off the phone with the PGC after reporting this violation. I gave them all of the details of the original post that Shorex4 reported, along with the details of the extra investigative work done by Bruce T. Thank you both for raising the red flag and for digging in to find even more details. Dispatch let me know that others have reported this violation as well and that they had the picture of the post already on file. This leads me to believe that some others on here have reported this already as well. Kudos to everyone that took action to help bring a thief to justice and help out a fellow trapper in need. This is a brotherhood and it should be treated as such. Come for one of us, be ready to take on all of us. I hope the trapper gets their trap returned to them and if they get a say, I hope they choose to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. I have been a victim of trap theft too many times. I can't stand a thief. Good work everyone.

P.S. - If you're dumb enough to do something like this and publicly broadcast it while putting your entire life out there for the entire Internet to see, you deserve everything coming your way. A true dope.
