Considering they are 340 grains I doubt it If you want to significantly increase go to a 45 caliber. Still bigger than most deer caliber and less grain bullet increase the range. I shoot 240 grain in my 50 cal. 150 yards is about my limit. It will shoot farther of course but bullet drop gets drastic quick in a muzzle loader Think the are talking about extending the "killing" range. Putting it thru the lungs is a whole different story.

No and I don't think you see a need for them till you get into the new fast twist weigh the charge ,rifle primer type of muzzle loader.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

330 don't rely on the manufacturers ballistics claims. Find an independent tester that will post more accurate data. Bullet configuration does help but compare FPS to other loads. Weight of bullet. They will want to compare to necked down cartridge. Look more a pistol ballistics. They will mirror a muzzle loader closer than you think. I have some data somewhere i'll look for. NOT that bullet but you can see how much a 250 grain drops.

What kind of range are you shooting at and what range are you wanting to shoot at ?

Practicing at the distance that you want to hunt at and knowing what YOU are good for is the one and only way to extend your effective shot capability.

Stretching out your shots also increases the risk of not making a clean kill shot on an animal.

I shoot a 30+ year old Remington 700 inline that I installed a Badger Ridge 209 kit in and now run Blackhorn powder also. I still shoot a Hornady 240gr XTP in a sabot. I know I'm good for 200 yards all day long with it now. That's what I limit my shots to.

I bought one 12 count pack to try on my Range

Taking off my old 2 3/4 straight tube scope and putting on a new Burris 3-9 x40

As soon as it warms up some mid Winter I'll try them out in my CVA OPTIMA

Any bullet will get you to 200, I killed a bunch from 180-220 with modern muzzleloading's 260 gr saboted lead hollowpoint, don't buy into the hype about high BC helping much at 300. BC starts to make a visible difference past 500 yards.that heavy bullet gives you more energy, but you have to compensate for more drop.

Try the 240 grain shockwaves. THEY will flat blow a hole in a whitetail. You want more distance don't think heavier bullet is the answer. Might look into a BDC reticle to get more out of your current setup But like mentioned time on the range is the best thing. 12 pack won't be enough to figure out anything. You get it on at 100. You'll need more to check out to 200. I think the main push for that bullet is elk hunting.

No, but I am definitely going to be changing bullets before next season, we have been using 245 grain Powerbelts with good success but apparently they have changed their alloy or jacket on the bullets, between us we shot 4 deer this year and the bullet literally blew up on all 4 of them with almost no penetration, two other deer that were bigger were shot and not recovered. We had never had this problem before we usually got through and through shots so this is unacceptable. Had the ones that were recovered been shot in the shoulder there wouldn't have been enough penetration to reach the vitals I don't think.

If I want meat I use a center fire. If I hunt big game for fun I use a different tool. My ML rifle is a cap gun 1-66 twist. Patched roundballs. Been looking for a small caliber flinter. If you want meat and not a challenge why not centerfire? if its legal and you enjoy it I am fine with it. I just dont understand it.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Center fire season is 9 days, followed by a 3 week long muzzleloader season here.
