Lot of talking and joking about age here on the forum. I'd be interested to know how old some of the oldest active participants here are, and while we're at it, how young are the youngest participanting as well.
I'm 72 and still actively trapping and hunting, just not as actively as a few years back.

I'll be 78 and active all fall, winter and spring trapping.

I'm 14. I hunt year round and trap when I can

I’m 78 and started trapping rats in ditches & creek within a 2 mile radius of home in 1954. If it was really cold and blowing ma would stop fixing supper and drive the old Oldsmobile over and give me a ride home. An old farmer that lived just about 2 miles cross country from our house used to tell how he’d be sitting at the kitchen table waiting for supper and watch me walking across his pasture and tell his wife “ there’s that Fales boy checking his traps again!” And would laugh!

A good friend of my dad’s was a river,rat trapper . He told me he would skin my 1st rat but the rest was up to me and that was how it was because my dad was not a trapper. The friend also gave me a sketch of how to cut out my stretchers also. I stood in line every Saturday morning at Sears & Roebuck to ship my rat pelts to NYC.
