Never been a fan of the 2-blade design but those heads do look well-built....had never heard of them.

I managed an archery shop on my off time and always put beginners in Thunderheads. Fantastic blade system.

Mercy! Just bought a pack. I don’t see why you can’t use the crossbow set in a regular bow?

This is the key

Tune your bow right and everything will hit the same hole (or at least group tight)

If you want to stay with mechanical Grim Reaper, Sevr and Wasp would be the first three I would check into
I would lean more to the ones without rubber bands holding the blades closed

As far as a mechanical head my absolute favorite all time was a Grim Reaper Hog Head
They built them from spare parts from some of the other heads they made and sold them at a big discount straight off their website
Have not seen them in years
$19.99/3 I think

As of right now I have a Sevr in cue to run through a pig and see what the results are

I am pretty sure I have 3 different broadheads in my 5 arrow quiver, not concerned about which one I pull out doing the job smile

My most important factor is the field point accuracy. I don’t care about blade span a single bit. I just want to be able to take my field points off and screw my broad heads on and go.

What’s out there these days?

Let’er rip, potato chip!

Tune your bow.

When I shot a compound I used muzzy 100 grain. I shoot rage in my cross bow. They come with a field point in the 3 pack.

John,
You and I know it ain't always about the tune (the bow tune or arrow tune.) You set 'em up right, make the fine adjustments, and still have results that are not satisfying.

I've shot bows since the mid-80s. Did all my own arrow building and bow adjustments. Shot 3D tournaments for years in the 90s. Was selected as part of a shooting team by a local Archery shop. I've had my hands on a lot of bows and archery equipment over the years.

There are broadheads that do not fly true, even from a "tuned" bow. I've tried many brands and designs. I shot Muzzy 90 grain fixed 4 blade for a couple decades. The deer and hogs that I've killed with that head I've lost count of. But, as bows change, performance changes. With a newer bow, the Muzzys were just a tad off. Bow tune problem? No. Arrow build problem? No.

I had resisted expandable for a long time, but done a little research and tried out a handful of brands. The Wasp Jak-Hammers won me over. The durability, the performance (flight, opening up, & the blood trails), the availability & ease of blade replacement, fair price, and American made. The Jak-Hammers have been on the market for 25 plus years and still have near 5 star reviews.

Never had a failure or crazy flier. They're the last broadhead I'll ever use.

Tuning/tweaking screws for a specific brand of broadhead is not acceptable to me. You get an arrow right thru paper. Shouldn't have to adjust for any particular broadhead.

Wasp Jak-Hammers = no screw turning needed.
