Once caught a coon by its nose in a "Black Hole" the precurser to the dog proof traps of today. Also snared a coyote once by a single back toe, still to this day I have no idea how that even was possible. The landowner had luckily dispatched the coyote. It was in a hole under the fence leading into his calving pens.

The more you trap, the more you realize the need to check traps as soon as possible!

My son had a big beaver pull a 3/8 drowning rod out of the water. The bank stake still held so the beaver was just sitting about 4 feet up the bank. My son went to dispatch and as he was about to remove his dispatch tool, the beaver backed up a little, hit the end of the trap chain and slipped out of the trap!(one toe catch). The beaver then slowly starts to waddle towards the water, and my son not wanting it to get away, grabs the beaver by the tail with both hands! I hear him yell for me to come help. I get there and I see his grip is slowly being lost on the tail! I was able to get down there to help and the beaver finally wound up in the back of the truck. Wish I had pics of that one!

This was at a crossover for otter. I pulled up and got out and started walking through the grass when up jumped this coyote flying all over with my 220 on his front leg. So I shot him. The cable was almost twisted through and the 18'' ''T'' stake I used to anchor the cable only had 9'' left in the ground and it was bent like you see in the bottom picture. I almost dove on the stake when I saw it but glad I shot first. Stupid coyotes!
