You guys have been helpful with my fish oil question. Now with temps getting well below freezing the fish oil is changing color and thickening up. First bottle made the mistake of leaving out over night. Had backup bottle inside but couple hours running traps had it almost to thick to use. What would be a good antifreeze agent.

Thanks for asking BC! That's the reason I don't use it or beaver tail oil either. May have to add some glycerin. What kinda ratio you figuer?

Glycerin and beaver tail oil seperate. Never tried it with fish oil. In my experience beaver tail oil thickens up to kind of a gel like consistency, but I've not had it get solid. I carry it in the flip top bottles with about a 3/16" hole, and I have always been able to squeeze it out still in the temperatures we get (or at least at the temperatures I've used it at) still seems to have just a strong a smell, you just can't squirt it, you must reach right to where you want to apply it and squeeze it out and apply like a gel. Kind of like applying silicone from a tube.

Also going to try adding sardine puree to make more fishy.

Thanks BC2.
I might try it in a bigger empty marten lure container I’ve got. I’ll have to see what the viscosity of the stuff is, the Marten Magic is like stiff Vaseline even at -30c, ole Mr Barnes has that recipe dialed right in.

Pressed vs sun rendered oil also has a different viscosity
size of the oil droplets and water remaining in the sample
90 weight vs 10 weight like in oil
