How many of you western guys do a bunch of walking on your lines vs mostly running the infinite miles of 2 tracks and trapping right off of them.
Its my first season and still trying to figure it all out. Thanks!

We deal with drifts, if we can't get back in we find another spot.
It can be rough.
Learn where the snow drifts and then look for trails on the clear spots, there have to be some out there somewhere, lol.
We don't have them but tracks on an atv are about perfect for Wyoming trapping. Maybe a beater snow machine if you could find a cheap one, and a sled for it.

Going up today for our morning check, got 4 inches last night here and hoping less at the ranch we trap. Snow is a pain.

Caught a nice coyote last weekend, surprised he still had the guard hairs- because of no snow yet and now we have more than we want.
Good luck !!
Carry a shovel.

I do both. Try to set as much as I can from the road, as long as it’s out of sight. A lot of times have to walk to areas, but no more than a mile or so round trip on foot. Unless it’s for bobcats, then it’s up down and all around the rimrocks for the big toms. lol

Ive got a check tomorrow and its snowed a bit on and off for the last couple days, fortunately it shouldnt be too terrible to get into anything but I could see it getting rough in a month or so. I'm fixing my 4wheeler now as I can get it around quite well in up to about a foot of snow.
