Back the first part Dec I posted about my brothers 308 deer rifle having stuck bolt. I went back and thought I updated the original post.. Then it disappeared and I can't find it.

Anyways..

He got the schematic and how to break down the gun. Said once he pulled the trigger assembly out the bolt opened right up. Said he was glad he tried that before putting it in a vice and tapping it with rubber mallet.
What he found was a broken sear jambed it up. Now he is searching for parts which I guess is already a struggle.
Anyone know a source for older guns parts?
My brother had gotten parts from a big dealer up by Minneapolis at one time. Guess that place is no longer in business.

It is funny that that part failed like it did. The gun has never been abused. Only reloads he ever used were managed recoil loads. Maybe it didn't like the cold? Maybe it was just its time to fail.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

It looks to me like he'll need to find someone with a good CNC and have them fashion one for him.

Mac-The guy I have. found odd gun parts is Larry, I think from St.Joseph Ridge or Middle Ridge guns. Sorry I am not so sure of location but I have only bought from him at gun shows! He really knows his stuff and has endless bins of parts. Might have to use the Jungle Drums to get in touch. I will put out some feelers for contact info.

I've gotten quite a few obscure parts from Numrich.

The only trouble I've had with them was them sending the wrong part twice for an old single-shot shotgun.

Eh...wot?

Thanks ADC for finding that.. No idea how I couldn't find it after hitting change??

Thanks everyone for ideas. I already suggested the machine shop if he has to go that route. My brother worked in maintenance for years in chemical plant. When I suggested maybe a Machinist. He said he had a guy used when he needed things made for work. If he couldn't find one may have to go that route. Go talk to him.

Ray when did you last see your Larry?? There was a Larry I recall with lots of guns and stuff. Don't know if he ever did shows? That Larry passed away couple years ago already. He lived closer to coon valley.

i'm surprised nobody has mentioned Numrich Arms. I've gotten parts from them from old guns.
