Didn't work this afternoon.
Went deer hunting and ended up going and killing a limit of wabbits.
Just hit some blackberry patches and brush piles.
Would have been so much more fun with a beagle or 2.
Just got them all cut up and ready to rinse off.
Probably grill up a batch and make them buffalo wing style in the next night or two
Then fry some up later in the week

Looks like a great way to spend a day "deer" hunting.

I don't even know where I could find that many rabbits in the brush anymore. Looks like you had you some fun. Only place there seems to be rabbits in numbers around here anymore. Right in the city.
Par-boil and pan fry was always my favorite way to fix them.

If you were closer I would show ya.

I started trapping out some coyotes and cats and the rabbits have exploded around here.

Now I wish I had a beagle to really enjoy it. But it's still fun going and hitting brush piles and blackberry patches

I got a bag limit of rabbits once in about 10 minutes when I was about 16 yo. I drove my first car back to the woods. The front part of the woods is where all the junk from the 50s and 60s were with rolls and rolls of fence. It was always a good rabbit spot. On this day I pulled up, started kicking fence rolls, and one right after the other I was done in like I said in about 10 or 15 minutes. I felt like a professional. One of the few times if the only time I limited out.

I miss the days when you would get back from hunting all morning, walk into grandmas house, put a skinned rabbit in the sink, sit down at the kitchen table, and watch her excitingly go to work making lunch like it was a day for a special treat.

Grandpa died when I was in the 7th grade but I remember shooting a rabbit with an acorn in its mouth and being proud when I showed him back at the house.

Rabbit hunting was the best, every kid should start hunting hunting by chasing after rabbits and squirrels. Too many kids think hunting is sitting still freezing to death all day waiting for a deer to walk up to you these days.

Good job.

If ya want to go PM me. I might drive down if you’re willing to go.
