Nice. Congratulations. I thought I saw one about two weeks ago in Watonwan County in Minnesota. I saw it for less than a second as I was driving so I'm not sure of it.

ergo, bibamus.

Fishers love hanging around my bear bait stump when I have a tag and baiting, my county borders the Mississippi river in Wisconsin

Obviously a population large enough for our highly conservative DNR to allow a legal harvest in the south. In my research on historical distribution in early MN no serious survey work was being done before fisheries numbers and distribution were already changed by heavy over harvest. The only notation I have come across was turn of the century as “uncommon statewide”. Leading me to think fisher are able to inhabit areas far broader than the limited wilderness areas that the limited surviving ones where able to avoid harvest until State protections and management has allowed them to recover and expand their range to their new limits. Yet to be seen.

I've learned enough thru the years to now know that I don't know enough. KNOWLEDGE IS FREEDOM.
