I have caught 1 coyote in a fish stake set. But I have never heard of anyone using it to target coyotes. It is a widely used method to catch raccoons in open water. Consists typically of a stake of some sort, usually rebar, with a chunk of fish impaled on it with a couple traps placed between the stake which is in the water and the shoreline. Water should not be much over 6” at most for effective results. Will take its share of mink and muskrats if shallow enough conditions are found. Be sure to check your states regs as in some areas you will need to cover from view of birds…. frown This is my opinion of course and I’m sure others may chime in with their own opinions, which is a good thing.

Down here you can catch a yote with a fish stick, but its main use is for coons, mink, otters, etc. I even set them for beavers, but I know no one that uses them just for yotes. There are a lot better sets for yotes than a fish stick.
