Never used to see it but now I see it alot. 3° yesterday and a guy was on the highway in shorts as there was so much snow he couldn't get to the house. I see more all the time. Walmart of course. Is this a macho thing to show how tough they are? Or stupid?

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

Stupid. Definitely stupid. I guess it requires too much effort to actually put on pants.
But hey, you do you. It doesn't affect me if people want cold legs!

Humans are strange, when it's 0 outside they keep it so warm in the house that they sit around in their underwear and watch TV
When it's 90+ outside they have it so cool in the house they need a blanket to watch TV
I'll never understand why some people do what they do

Guy at work wears shorts till -10°. He is a delivery driver and I think it's crazy but he never seems bothered by cold.

Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

Had a buddy who never wore a coat in winter. I always told him he needed a parka and boots in is car at least. He didn’t listen, till he changed a flat tire in a blizzard one winter.

When the kids were little I use to stop the truck in bad weather and pretend it died. I’d say “ok, who’s ready to walk?” Made them think about how to be prepared for winter driving. Even a 1/2 mile walk to the house can feel like10 miles when you’re not prepared, if you make it that is.

A lot of people, myself included, don't get cold unless we are in the cold for a long period of time and inactive. Shorts are more comfortable than pants. When I was single, I kept my house at 50F during the Winter and wore shorts and a t-shirt inside and usually out.

I usually try to keep a coat, hat and gloves in the vehicles, but I haven't this year. I have not worn a coat this Winter yet and I've been outside in single digits. I do wear a t-shirt under a long sleeve shirt in cold weather. I usually shovel snow in shorts and a t-shirt, but I wore light sweat pants shoveling on Monday. I easily get to hot.

Those guys that wear shorts in the winter are tougher than all you guys.

Just admit it!

Also...those men ain’t embarrassed of their legs....white or tanned.

Some of us have prettier legs than than others.

Not me! I put long John’s on the first of September and don’t take ‘em off till the end of April. Well, I do change them for Christmas and my birthday. grin

my wife's step grandfather always wears short and has the 28 years I have known him. It's nothing about being tough it's how he is comfortable.

I consider it a southern thing mostly. I wear short just about every day except for hunting season. But have been known to wear shorts, a tank top and flip flops to my stand.
I say if you have nice looking legs like I do. Then it's a shame to keep them covered. Plus I like to keep my tan.

Never wear shorts, no matter how hot...too many biting flies, mosquitos, and sun, less area to protect, lol
