I must have done good enough hiding it as she dished up a bowl for herself. Her first spoonful came out faster than it went in and her mouth was on fire! I got called names that the profanity filter won’t allow!

Anyway, I need to tame it down. Anyone have luck turning such an animal palatable? What did you use to tame it?

That's too funny!

My wife grew couple them ghost pepper plants for one of my buddies. That was years ago now when they kinda first showed up.. I can't even handle biting into a jalapeno right off the plant. I watched my buddy bite a chuck off the end one the ghost peppers right in wife's garden. . That probably would have had me in a ball on the ground packing dirt in my mouth. He was just like yeah! That has a bit of heat and zip to it. He left with all the peppers from the two plants. I'm know they used them for something they made not sure what. When ever the wife and I have eaten at their place. Always have to ask if something is going to make me drag my butt on rug. They usually tone it down for us folks.
Wife tried growing them again next couple summer but they failed. Either wasn't right weather or different seed stock.
That's my ghost pepper story. You can keep those things

Hot peppers can be tricky to grow.

Years ago you could buy small ornamental "Christmas" peppers on the holidays as they were attractive with their little red peppers. My grandma always had one, one day i said "I wonder if these things are edible?"

I scratched off a tiny chunk, held it up to my lips, and touched that tiny fragment to them....

O.M.G.!!!! I thought that thing was gonna burn a hole all the way through the back of my head!, it was like burning phosphorus!...It completely cured me of ever eating a hot pepper till the end of time!!!
I can understand why you can't buy them anymore, probably some little kid ate one and burst into flames!, lol

I don't know how that heat compares with a ghost pepper, but it was bad, real bad.... grin

Well boys, I took a from the fridge and spooned out a bowl. I added 1 tsp apple cider vinegar, stirred it up and popped it in the micro. No noticeable decrease in the heat. I had hiccups within 30 seconds. This stuff is dangerous!! I might not need to buy any more propane this year!

I sure do hate to toss a batch as I’ve got over $30 in it. Can I freeze it and mix it with a normal batch?

OMG…I just chewed a chunk that fell out between my teeth and I think it was (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) incarnate! The filter was the hot place!

That would be an unanticipated bonus.

You'll have to mix it with about 4x what you made to cool it down.

as for taming it down in chili..one could drown it in brown sugar. I always add a cup or so to cut down the acid mainly
