I've always wanted a coyote coat and finally just found the need to pull the trigger. My good friend Matt from Indiana who I've trapped with a few years here in Nebraska was gracious enough to trap these coyotes for me last year and put them up. I haven't done much if any fur trapping/handling over the last few years. Deanna McCormick in Minnesota put the jacket together for me. Was a pretty effortless transaction on my part.

I did already wear it to work when the temperature was near zero, had to shut my truck's heater off. Interestingly, I have got quite a few interesting looks but once people actually see the coat up close I've had quite a few compliments and people wondering what it is. I'd love to wear this out calling but it is too nice to beat it up.

I will probably wear it any chance I can get if it is cold enough here, I love to explain fur's renewability to anyone looking to listen. I've already been pondering whether I need some some gloves and a bedspread to go with it. I had a very pleasant gal from Alaska (member on here can't remember her name) make me a bomber quite a few years back off a coyote I caught that I still use today. Someday, I am going to have a full coat made out of bobcats...it's I guess what you could say a bucket list for me. [Linked Image]

I like it too.

Fur is amazingly warm. I bought knee legnth fur coat for hunting out of a tree stands in real cold weather. It's amazing the difference it makes.

Beautiful coat.

57 years trapping. It's who I am. Every day is still as exciting as it was when I was a kid but a little more work.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Thanks guys. Deanna does great work, had a little issue with the tannery. I shipped the fur to her finally around the end of October, she started working on the coat around mid-December when we decided on a size (Finally I just went to a tractor supply and tried on a Carhardt and she matched that size/style perfectly) and I had it right around the 1st of the new year. Can't ask for better service there. If anyone is sitting on a pile of tanned bobcats I know a guy that might want to chat smile

That's a nice coat!

The girl that made you the hat, was it Alaska Wolf (Bonnie)? I don't think she's a member here anymore.

Eh...wot?
