I like to use these too. I found a bunch I forgot about, so I will be listing some for sale in the Trap Shed later on.

I’d use a No BS 1.5 in you situation. I like the 450’s but they are spendy.

450 OS's if money and theft isn't an issue.

I’ve got about 5-6 dozen OS 450’s, theft isn’t a problem, but tractors running over them this year has been my issue. They don’t hold a John Deere. lol

I will say this, I preferred the flat dog they had on them, not a fan of the round dog on the newer ones.

I might pick up a few 550’s as I have a farm who says he has seen coyotes. So, gives me a reason to buy a few.

Stop over cooking your meat! It isn’t gamey, it’s over cooked!

Ask 12 trappers, get 12 different answers. And guess what? They are all correct.

Let’s not get started on cable restraints/snares! lol

I have watched enough videos to see chain length carries a little more weight than the actual trap. Most of my rigs are like coop described but I do have some 16”. I certainly don’t want 3’, giving them a 6’ run before the stop.

I have 10” total from stake to trap, with a double swivel on both ends. I’ve considered adding a swivel in the middle but don’t have much binding with the standard set up I use

3’ would be ridiculous unless using a drag I guess.

1.75 os Bridger with a swivel added mid chain. I swap the dog out with stronger flat dog
The pan is the weak link with this trap, but I'm slowly switching them out also
They have held every coyote that has stepped in them

strictly for fox, the 1.5 monty round jaw is in my opinion the best fox trap ever built, I have also held a good many big Pennsylvania coyotes in them.
