I been thinking about get a cellular trail camera and even with reading about them not 100% sure on the details. So, if I have iffy cell service but do at times will it be worth getting one/ Will they notify me every time I get a picture and what does it cost per month or per picture etc. This is the part I'm not sure of cost after I start using it.
Any experience with them I would appreciate teaching the ins and outs. Thanks

With spotty service you may not get real time photos. But usually not much lag time. Yes, every time it triggers you will get the pic sent to your phone/computer. I run spypoints, there was an upfront charge, and then unlimited photos are like $10 month. If you go with anything less than unlimited good chance you will run over your allotment, due to shadows, birds, bugs, wind. Technology is getting better quickly, its a deep rabbit hole to go down for sure.

Everything you asked varies by brand.
Cell service might be spotty, no matter the brand.
Most brands allow you to set when you want to get pic...immediately, every 3 hrs, every 6 hrs, every 24 hrs, etc.
Every brand has different plans and monthly or yearly costs. Most of them you can stop and start back as you wish.
Plans vary from $8/month for 500 pics to $15/month or more for unlimited pics.
Tactacam and Moultrie both have great apps to help manage the pics.
Bushnell is a good camera.
Spartan is a great camera but the app allows no pic management.

I use Tactacam Reveal 3.0 cameras. If your phone doesn’t work then the camera won’t work either (as in sending pictures). I bought mine for $105 each from Cabelas when they had a club member special last month. The basic plan is $5 per month per camera which gets you 250 pictures. I added the $9 option to be able to request / force the camera to take a photo (that fee is for unlimited cameras). The cameras are controlled by an app that you install on your phone and yes, it will notify you when a picture is taken. These cameras are really user friendly - no cell plan or other subscriptions are needed. X2 I really like it. Set the camera up and don't habe to go back in. Right now I have it on a canine set. This way it shows me they are much smarter than me. Plus I have a solar pack for mine so don't have to worry about batteries.

Excellent advice and thanks to all. I'm going to look into one for my place. It is very remote, and we don't have many problems, but I would want one more for security purposes.

I've tried several. They all worked but most go through batterys pretty fast. Mountre have a really expensive plan, which i didn't know until i got them. You pay a lot for the convenience of checking your camera from home. I got a solar camera called wildlife cam. It is by far the easiest and best so far. No batteries to buy and it has worked in every kind of weather. You just have to be within 10 feet of it to check the videos on your phone. I don't think I'll go back to batteries.
Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

Buy one and give it a try. If it doesn’t work good due to cell service you can cancel the plan and still use it as a regular trailcam with no monthly payment. So at least you’re not stuck with a camera that doesn’t work.

And they have antennas, so if your cell phone is borderline getting a signal, the camera should get a better signal.

If card is stolen or card is out of camera then I wouldn't get any pictures right? The card is still the memory for the camera?

My cameras have some built in storage, you can use an SD card if you want or not. The SD card will store higher resolution pics by the thousands. If you don't have the card in then it will save the most recent ones and write over the older ones when it runs out of space. Will send pics with or without an SD card installed.
Thanks Nate you answered my question. Great pics Flippah!
