Clearing the buildings, hauling and disposal of debris, fixing damaged streets, re installing temporary power then reinstalling long term power. It's gonna be expensive, I couldn't even pretend to know the number but it will be high.

Well kind of always wonder why people rebuild where they have already been wiped out . New Orleans is the best example of head scratching. at least with the fire it should be some time before it gets enough fuel to burn like that again.

Same with the barrier beachs, nice views! but when a hurricane wipes them out they want assistance rebuilding, or building up the beach in front of their houses...

You want to live there great!, but rebuilding should be on you, cause it's not if it's destroyed, but when.... better yet, take a one time buyout and go somewhere else, be a lot cheaper for the tax payers in the long run...

At least when disaster relief is spent on things like this we see where our money went. What’s the total on Ukraine up to? 800 billion? Can’t show a thing for it. Except bunch of rich politicians

Makes you wonder just what was so flammable in between those houses?

What between houses they look like they are so close to each other you could hear your neighbor flush their toilet

I dont think you can get a single wide trailer in that area in LA for less than a million. Obviously we are talking about market value not material cost.

Yes I saw an article that and I'm not joking that said middle class dreams wiped out when the fire burn uo the mobile home park. I just don't equate middle class dreams of living in a mobile home park together.

FEMA should give everyone that lost a home a nice big tent if they have nowhere to live. Then you would have to have porta potties too. But hopefully most people are finding better places to live.

Just wait until heavy rains hit those barren hillsides. What's left will be at the bottom when the mudslides start.

Exactly. The south (Goergia, South Carolina North Carolina) didn't recieve the coverage nor the response commie California has. Folks in the south are still without places to live.
This stinks to high heaven. Demo state and highest electoral votes. Who would've thunk it.
Now, I don't wish this on anyone. I've lost a home to fire and my pets.
But regardless where you live. All should get all the resources the US can provide and in a timely manner. After all we are all Americans.

So, your being judgemental. Glad you have that right to judge. Not everyone can or wants to live the way you think they should in order to qualify to your standards.
Shame on you.

One simple solution would be for the Californians effected to pretend to be illegal aliens, so they could get all their needs immediately taken care of. frown

President Trump should take care of them the same way he would help Americans in any other states, who experienced the same.

My heart goes out to those that lost everything including lives. BUT the devil jumps up on my shoulder saying the lack of firemen , water , and other resources is what you get when you VOTE in idiots with idiotic ideals. AS for dwellings . How many illegals is the state of cali got housed in hotels? How many are they paying rent for? Until they vote semi normal people in office they will continue to suffer.

It is Californie! I don't need to watch the nightly news propaganda broadcast to know gross mismanagement of resources and bad policy led to this disaster and that the culprits will never have their feet held to the fire.

It is how things go where liberals are put in charge of important stuff.

Value vs. replacement cost are different. Value vs reproduction cost are vastly different. Add in personal property, clean up, hazmat, disposal, etc and those numbers don't surprise me at all.
