We burn between 100 to 200 gallon of lp annually but our main heat is wood. 6-7 cords.

Fixed rate $55 a month for the whole year, no catch up payment at the end either.
We heat with wood too so that helps a lot.
Natural and furnace and water heater.

For those three. 195 a month would be cheap here

2 x but chains, saw gas/mix, and time cutting are cost, Your time and health are your most valuable things so count them. I have Got to go cut a bunch this week was hoping it would melt off the snow but no such luck. but only have about 2 weeks worth left. hopefully the old tractor starts.

Same here. My neighbor has a large house and his gas/electric bill is close to $1,000 a month in the winter.

I've kept track of my natural gas bill monthly/yearly since I moved in this house so 18 years. Last year Feb. 2023 to Jan. 2024 it averaged $55.17 a month for a total of $662.00. The year before was a little colder it was $73.42 a month. That's for a gas furnace, water heater and stove. That's pretty cheap and there's no way I could ever burn wood for what it cost. I live in a 1600 sq. ft ranch with a 1400 sq. ft basement built in 1966. The 2 car attached garage isn't heated.
The highest average was the first year we moved in it was $76 a month for the year. Most years I'm averaging around $50 a month lowest was $44. I have had several years under $50 a month.
Very few people that burn wood ever take into account the cost of chainsaws, chains, fuel and oil, wear and tear on a pickup or their time. I'll take paying $600 to $800 a year over that anytime. I used to help my Uncle cut wood and I liked doing it but I'm glad I don't have to.

I am not trying to argue, But what does it cost in maintenance and time to gather wood Nothing is for nothing. plus keeping it burning. I use 1200 gallons of LP per year .At around 1.00 a gal. Try and beat that with your Boiler expense, Everyone to their own.

Sure, there is no free lunch....The value in burning wood for me is the superior radiant heat...Wood doesn't just heat, it heats "things" like walls & floors, etc.

Nothing compares, plus you get the security of having heat in case of power outages, or gas supply interruptions.

Another perk of wood is your going to get in shape...Make you, or break you, Lol.

Nothing heats a house like a wood stove in the basement or so it seems. That said I use propane lol

With the shop on a normal winter it would push 7000 a winter, the insurance company said we could burn wood again so the burner went in and burning wood again, so far this year we’ve burned 400 gallons.
