Dump the gas out and get some high test and put in it.

[quote=30-06 Trapper]so thanks for all the advice some were close the awnser was when I cleaned out the entire carb down to the last screw and went through the jets with a wire when I put in a new diaphram I put the gasket and diaphram in backwards.
its a 2 stroke strike master
and I never get new carbs I will go through every hole and creavise before consider buying any new parts.
also has brand new mixed gas and air filters are good

Another common issue that augers have that most guys can’t seem to figure out is the fuel line intake for the carb. Old carbs use to be brass, but seems most are plastic now. The plastic ones will form a hairline crack in them causing an air leak. This cured an auger I was having fits with once. My augers over 20 years old now and still running strong.

Yup. Clean all the jet holes in that carb too. Check the needle & seat as well. 9 out of 10 times this is a carb problem. Also check the fuel line.

This should always be the first step with a small engine that has set a while and won't start. When they sit with stale gas in them for extended period things will gum up and the fuel won't burn hot. Best to let small engines run out of gas when you put them away for the season. Second best is to always use Stabil in the gas. It will save you these headaches.

If your carb is really clean, dump the gas out, put fresh gas in and change the spark plug.
