Does anyone remember these? I am thinking around the mid-80's? He wrote a bunch of books, one may have been called something about a Grasshopper Trap. There were several of them and I read them all a long, long time ago and can't remember the details.
I have nothing clever to put here.

One of the best! Always read his stories in the back of Outdoor Life first! That artist was good also , if you looked you could find his daughters name a few times in each drawing. NIKI

"They Shoot Canoes, Don't They?" YES! That was one! Like I said, I used to read them all the time and remember them being funny as heck. Wasn't Crazy Eddy the best friend?

They were my grandfather's favorite. As a kid, I didn't like them. Read the one you mentioned about grasshoppers a year or two ago again. It was okay, but still not really my thing....

I have a whole stack of them. At least 12 of them, maybe one or two hidden somewhere. Charlie

The Grasshopper Trap and A Fine and Pleasant Misery are two I remember. Great Stuff! Retch Sweeney and Rancid Crabtree..... RETCH! That was it. I remember something about him being too poor to have a sleeping bag so he bundled up in an old moth eaten fur coat. He got woke up in the middle of the night and the other kids thought he was a bear trying to eat them.
I have nothing clever to put here.
