I don't know if they go crazy but they do spend more time on their feet traveling.

Not really. They're more or less monogamistic so they arent chasing a herd of does all over the county. They are a bit more territorial, dont respond to bait as well but do respond better to gland lures.

I snare mostly male coyotes in late January and February. Seems they wander long distances to look for a female. I can see in the snow they are traveling alone. Caught one a few years ago that was tagged in PA about 70 miles away. Was part of a college student's doctorate study.

Thanks for your post and information.....I don't travel much in U S .....saw New Jersey as location.....always thought that state was only houses... businesses. ...people......never thought you had wildlife..........are coyotes attacks on people and pets there same as in Massachusetts ...I'm working on a live catch coyote trap......here in ohio they're getting thick......many on this forum have had good laughs saying it'll never work......but I going to try.....thats why thought coyote would be more vulnerable in breeding season snd posted question

maybe not as crazy but you know breeding season is in full swing because you start seeing more out walking during the daylight hours and if your hunting them you get way more doubles and triples

Yes....news reports last 2 days have been stressing caution durring breeding season.......was not figuring how daylight factored into it
though....thanks.....with their growing numbers......I've been working on a permanent live catch trap....many on this forum have had good laughs on it........but I have to try my idea....
