Wolf fang on cable. I make my own cables. Some I yank out by hand, others a pick ax, and some I cut and go

been using bullet type for years now, a T- bar with a hook to remove from ground.

Got tired of rebar too and I was double staking all my predator sets. I just use berk hd style now on cable and the ends and cable are cheap. When I’m pulling up the line it’s usually dead of winter and ground is frozen solid so I just cut the cables and go. I buy the berks in bulk and my cable and double ferrules. Really inexpensive and I don’t ever worry about retrieving them unless the ground is still soft. Best move I ever made. Don’t even need a special driver just a pointed rebar stake. Super cheap staking method. Holds every coyote around here just fine. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I use Berkshires HD, no need for a special driver you can use a 3/8 reread stake. Same here. And if you buy them in bulk and make your own cable, they're practically disposable. And Scott, what exactly is a reread stake? Do you make it yourself? Pictures?

I started with Bershires decades ago but quickly went to homemade pogos for my ground of clay, sand, & loam. Because of the low cost and great performance I quickly became a “clip & go” canine trapper. I don’t know if the components are as cheap today as they once were when I bought in volume

I make my own from 1/2 inch black pipe. Pull them with a pick like nail with claw hammer. If I was starting out new now I would probably go with Pogo's system. It does make a difference what kind of ground your dealing with.

I use mostly wolf-fang on 15” cable. Pull them with a NoBS puller. Works much better and faster than auger next to them to pull. I break the cable on about 1 in 5.

Bdaniel, If I remember right you had some type of lag bolt and chain system. Didn't think it would work in my soil/rock conditions or frozen solid ground. Remember everyone has different conditions like soil, rock, weather etc... Not one system is fit for all applications, just because someone doesn't comment on what you wrote doesn't mean no one took interest. I remember taking notice and figured it wasn't for me. Thank you for participating and your incite

I use wolf fangs every soft often. Otherwise is double stake when I can drive close to my set location. I do have a couple of spots where I made my own anchor where I dug them in during spring and packed them so they stay there. In the fall I come in and clip the trap on and bed.
