I love finding bladders this full!

I tossed out a huge wolf bag like that a few weeks ago...female to boot, lol

Coulda sold that to gardeners to keep the deer away. LOL

Had a customer who was paying top dollar for "wolf" urine for just that purpose. I don't know for sure but I don't think what he was buying was wolf urine.

Coulda used that to freshen up or make some new pee posts. I use it in my homemade gland lure. Don't usually have much of any pee in them after being caught, but I caught a huge male last winter that had a good pint in his bladder, by far the most I've ever seen in a wolf. Couldn't believe he had any, the snow was yellow in the catch circle and even I could smell the urine there. He must have been drinking lots of coffee. Lol

I normally dont mess with bladder urine,but it is good if you foot trap canines.Well worth harvesting-fox too.
Loads of wolf urine and scat on the trapline,just pick it up with your shovel and bag it.

I’ve had zero luck with pee post for wolf. I’ve heard a lot of others don’t either. There’s reasons they mark and a strange wolf mark in the middle of their turf would be extremely suspicious. Boundary’s on the other hand….
I’m only on page 70 in this giant wolf book, very educational on why they do things, and how little we know about them.

My absolute favorite set is blind at their own pee post, no urine or anything added. That will take the real educated ones who have already seen everything from all the trappers around you. But there are a limited amount of those sets available.

Depends on the wolf as to their reaction to strange wolf urine, but I don't think it would be extremely suspicious, there is always some random lone wolf going walkabout through everybodies territory. But I will say I've had much better reactions when I use both scat and urine than just urine, as far as making my own pee posts rather than freshening up an existing one.

And yes, ideally if you can make them near the boundary of their territory they tend to react more aggressively than in the center of their territory.

Boco, I do regularly pick up wolf scat and at times urine on the line, picked up a baggy full of wolf scat yesterday in an area I was hunting, will probably use that in another area I'm trapping on a different bunch of wolves. But I agree, not sure how you would make a productive snare set with it.

They’re supposedly very cautious where they mark, but a loners gotta go #1 or 2 sooner or later!…lol. On the other hand, about 2 weeks ago the group of 7+ peed all over the sled trail in a couple spots where they never did before. They’re still kinda new so maybe craving out their boundaries? This pack is much less cautious than last years, using different routes too. They’ve been gone for over a week now but they know 2 spots where there’s a free buffet. Last years pack would come around every 2-4 weeks, then hang around for a few days. This is the longest I haven’t seen tracks this season, other than the loner that slipped through yesterday. I’d like to take 3 or 4 more then leave ‘em alone.
