My son has one the heavy steel sifters with expanded metal for grate. Don't recall who he bought it from at several years back at state convention.
Believe it or not I have seen that thing ice up. When the air temperature is cold enough and ground isn't frozen yet. Put a scoop dirt in it and iced dirt to the grate. Usually signals time to put peat moss or wax dirt in the trap bed.
