Canada is schmoozing up to us because they know they would be screwed without the United States.

The only way I see it happening is if Canadians vote for it. Which I don't see happening. National pride won't allow it. Thats not a bad thing. I think Canada will pay more into NATO and trade won't be all in Canadas favor.

Canadas health care is pricey. Taxes are high. Canadian government is shook up because Trump is demanding they pay their full amount into NATO. The U.S. goods and services trade deficit with Canada was $53.5 billion in 2022. The tariffs are a tool to correct those things. I dont think it will be necessary. Thedope said Canada can't afford it which prompted Trumps statehood comment. I am confident Canada will meet the challenge.
