When you are not killing yourself on the trapline and fur is put up,(mines not), is anyone tinkering with a hot rod anything? Gear head, old-school muscle? When I get my coyotes put up to send to the tannery, I am going to put an MSD ignition in my boat with a sealed marine billet distributor. Then, I am telling myself the restoration will be complete.

I am taking my truck into town for an oil change tomorrow. Does that count? I plan on drinking coffee while they do it.

For sure, as long as you are having fun. It's cold here and even colder up there, drinking coffee is a good activity.

I need to change oil in the wood splitter if anyone even makes an oil filter for it anymore. It was -26 this morning so I am thinking that is a great SPRING project.

popped a tire on a sharp stick , getting 4 , but right now the wheel is stuck I beat a 4 pound dead blow to pieces trying to break it lose.

I don't hot rod anything , it breaks fast enough under regular power.

Put the lug nuts on, backed off a turn or two. Set the truck on the ground. Rock it sideways and that should pop the wheel loose.

I picked up a cheap import hydraulic powered sickle mower for 1 ton mini-excavator. (I don't have a mini-excavator) I made something to mount it on the frontloader of my tractor. It angles from straight up to about 30 degrees below horizontal
Now I can drive the top of my dam and mow the sloped sides.

I'm waiting for my 350 Cheby block, crank and heads to get done at the machine shop. Once I get it assembled, it's going into my 1948 International panel wagon. A Nova front end, Camaro rear end and a fresh 700r4 tranny already are installed. I had it on the road for a bit this fall, but the junkyard 350 in it blew up. It'll be a great rig for spring beaver season!

Good job! I have a nice 650 RXL with pipes and chip and some other mods. It has been sitting for quite a while. It was king of the lake back in it's day. Loved the sound of the triple with pipes.

I have a 2004 Dodge dually that I'm building into a hot rod. I'm not quite happy with it yet. It's got +80% injectors, S&B intake, aurora 3000/5000 twin turbos, ARP head studs, banks manifold, 5" turbo-back exhaust, high pressure pump built by advanced diesel, I put a beans diesel sump in the tank, top end parts from sinister (push rods, rockers, valve springs). The transmission is an NV5600 I rebuilt with bearings, races, synchros, and input/output shafts from ATS. Clutch is a dual disc valair (stage 3). I had the drive lines made by a machinist friend of mine. I have a new ring and pinion for the rear end (Yukon gear and axle) that I need to install one of these days, and I have a new steering gear box that I need to put on it as well as a steering box stabilizer that I've been meaning to weld up. The factory bed also needs replaced with a flatbed, but the truck is one of my lowest priorities at the moment, as it's purely for fun (after I got to a certain point along the build process it stopped being practical/reasonable to drive around) and even if I went and dug it out of the shop at my mother in laws house where it sits, it's not driveable in the winter time. It's fun to drive once in a while, but it stopped being useful about 400 horsepower ago

Bought the wifey a new hot rod-2002 Toyota Camry. Good looking car but it's a high miler. 178k on the clock right now. Went though it last weekend and got a parts list, and ordered a bunch of stuff off of rock auto. Once parts show up, I'll be out in the cold getting it up and running.

I find that beating a wheel off with a sledgehammer tends to not work all that well, and just bends up wheels. Try a big prybar on the wheel from the backside, prying against something like the brake caliper or tie rod. Tends to work much better.
