I believe I met Roger once. My memory is he wasn't always an outdoorsmans friend. . Watched the vid. Lots of stories behind the story in the video. Gary Bamford, Lloyd DeWilde, The Walter family. I knew Gary for a while.Worked on his plane back around 1990. He's gone. His home camp was sold, but lots of cabins he had are likely unused. Some of the DeWilde kids are here in Fbks. The story of the Walters boy who committed a murder is interesting. I'm sure several readers know Heimo.

I believe I met Roger once. My memory is he wasn't always an outdoorsmans friend. Didn't watch the vid yet but I think it's mostly about Heimo, right. Everyone liked Heimo! Its actually about a number of trappers and their families from the area. The Hayden family had a longer segment than Heimo and Edna.

Does anyone know if there are still any guys seriously trapping out of Fort Yukon; like maybe "Snook"?
I don't think Snook is trapping any longer. Still running the rivers in boats though. Jim Firmin is still trapping out of Fort Yukon.

It's really sad that once those trappers who have those cabins die-out the Feds will most likely burn down their cabins in an attempt to erase the bush lifestyle from our history; I don't believe the permit can be renewed more than one generation out. Maybe Trump can change this. People have been living in this area for over 13,000 years, now a bunch of do-gooders think that's a bad thing.

I did like it except for the two stories about the youth from two families .These types of tragedys are not something the families and friends care to be broadcast . That soured me on a really good film .Just because we can do something doesnt mean we should .

I just spoke with a friend who knew Roger Kaye very well. Apparently the locals didn't think too highly of him; "always looking to catch you doing something".
