Just curious as to what would stop the wolves in northern Minnesota from going into southern Minnesota?

Bruce similar to here in WI. We have a few in Southern WI but open farm land and little large wooded blocks. Larger population bodies as well. Majority of wolves are in the northern half, large tracks of national and county forest, and forest in genderal

At least he looks like he’ll make it through the winter warmth wise.

If Minnesota wasn't a no bait state for deer, I would guess that fawn and squirrel aren't going any farther from a good bait pile then they can waddle in a few minutes. Deer that feed on bait piles, here in Ohio, can maintain really good Winter weights.

It is amazing the changes in body weight that many wildlife species go through in an annual cycle. Many may gain and lose half of their typical boyd weight or average in a year. That is demanding on the physiology of the animal and they have evolved to be able to do so. At least the survivors were able to.
