Ok so question for th gumbo cooks. Wanna go a lil shrimp and sausage gumbo


But we're out of green bell pepper. Got some yellow red and orange though. Anyone ever try these in a gumbo and if so how the favor change? Only every used green

I don't like green and use colored ones. Actually, use poblano next time.

Since I am no Cajon I figure I can blaspheme and make a gumbo any way I want. I like to put Hatch green chili in it. Never used the poblanos that were mentioned but sounds good. I have used Jalapenos. Family said it was to hot. I thought it was great.

Color blind here, All taste fine.
I almost always add a couple small or 1 large Jalapeno chopped extra fine

Going to be in Ocean Springs next month and gumbo is on my to do list.

In my chili I use either red or green bell peppers and I can't tell a difference

None of the bell peppers have any worthwhile flavor to me. theyre just something to stuff and still say you eat vegetables

I use what ever is on sale

I like the taste of all the colored bell peppers.Been using them in chicken stir-fries

I find red, orange and yellow peppers sweeter than the greens. That being said I use green peppers when making gumbo.

Use what you got, or about to throw away....

Probably why I like them so much.
