It may sound weird to you guys, but my squirrel dog is a Lhasa Opsa. She was never trained to tree squirrels, she just picked it up on her own. She will go, tree a squirrel, and then wait for me to come out and shoot it for her. And even though she is small, she is very good at it!

Yep! Except our dog’s hair is cut a lot shorter than that. If my mom ever saw our dog look like that, she would go nuts!

Look up “Lhasa Opsa short hair cut” you’ll see what I mean.

Interesting, does she sight tree them or sniff them out? Also will she hunt really hard in a woods? I’ve never heard of someone hunting with one of them but the little dogs seem to be pretty gamey

She does both. She always seems to know when a squirrel is in a tree or if they aren’t there. She will hunt ‘til she drops! Does that answer your question?

Our little Maltese, Shi Tzu and Yorkie cross. Sometimes I drag a squirrel pelt around and have her track it down. She does a pretty good job

The ones up here dont even make a quarter that size!

thats a nice gray, the fox squirrels and grays get big around here for sure
