Does anyone have any YouTube Videos or other resources you can share on how to remove the glands from Muskrats including which ones to take and how to properly get them out?

Thanks,

The only ones worth getting are the ones that are by the tail. They look like mini castors/little brains. Most of the time they are are stuck hide, you literally just pull em off. Occasional stubborn ones need to a quick slice of a knife. Guys that stick a long filet knife from ankle to ankle risk cutting them.

They usually stick to the hide thru skinning. I pick them off when they go on the beam. They’ll pull off with your fingers. [Linked Image]

Are the pictures you guys are showing from spring caught muskrats? I caught 316 this fall and well over 1500 in my life and have never seen castor looking glands like that. On youtube i seen a video where a guys talks about a gland in the muscle of the back legs. Is this the same gland or different ones?

On a spring caught muskrat there will be no doubt when you see them.
