Is this what they mean by trigger discipline?

Observant eyes made notice one of the spring latches is still on as well. Shouldn't have rushed setting it up yesterday. Well, live and learn.

If your trigger works, then you just missed a little one. I set like that a lot of that reason = don't want the puppies.....jk

I set the trigger quite often like that, especially under the ice. Gives small stuff a chance of getting by, and under ice the beaver gets right in there before setting it off and a less chance of it disturbing other close by sets. A Magnum 330 half submerged with the trigger under the water in a “T” will catch dang near everything. A non mag will see some empty traps. I think I only had one 330 set on dry ground when I first started, everything since has been fully or partially submerged, but it’ll obviously work.
I went to trap some private property 2 falls ago. When me & the property owner walked to the little pond, we saw a couple 330s up on the bank, which ticked him off some. But you could see where the beaver just went around…lol.
Property owner talked to neighbour and it was his 18yr old kid trespassing. There was a trap thief that patrolled the area too, not sure if it was him but we never had problems…..except the beaver. The 330s had to be submerged with dive stick or footholds after that kid….lol
