Got my younger bro to kick the shrubs with me a bit. Windy but still got a few!

Had to nearly step on them to get them to move but wanted to get out before the cold spell. Brother pictured is the baby out of us boys.

He got two of the three so I let him have them. He loves rabbit fajitas. Our dad was military (Navy) and was not around to take us hunting but would talk to us about him doing it when he was young. Many moons ago I found this site. The folks on here answered my hunting and trapping questions. Basically filled the void my father could not due to his time constraints. Trapped my first muskrat and shot my first deer in my early twenties. Just getting back into getting my brothers into the outdoors. It is never to late or to old to start!

I was given this dog 3 years ago, she has been worth the dog food she eats for sure. I had already killed one and took it to the house, and we went out for one more and killed 2 instead, she was running a different one and these 2 came past a minute apart. She ran 9 total in 3 hours time, 5 went down holes, we got 3 and I had to pull her off the 9th one at dark.

Nothing like running a dog on rabbits! Also, coons and birds.

^^oh those silky floppy beagle ears! Makes me miss Sampson!!! He was chocolate and white. Hated rabbits in the yard. Could smell em and he would bray away. He ran and sniffed so much he didn’t realize he was pooping himself the entire time.

Encouraging words for me!!
Nice to know that others have it in their blood even tho they weren’t really raised that way

I have had several beagles in my long life. Lost my last one a year ago. One of the best rabbit hunters I have ever had. It is quite enjoyable to see others share in their time in the field.

The first 3 I shot were shot with a Marlin md 60 I purchased in 1972 at a Holiday gas station for 39.00. The picture with 4 rabbits were shot with a Browning BL-22 I purchased new from JC Penny's in Jamestown N.D in 1981. I think I paid 118.00 for it.
