I have been able to sit and talk to Mr Paul Dobbins over the years at several different conventions By Paul' good grace he allowed me and my Boykin Spaniel EMMY to join him in his booth both at PTA VIRGINA AND ALSO A FURTAKERS event in Harrisonburg Virgina a couple of years ago HE was a generous host to us And we or at least I TRULY ENJOYED THE TIME SPENT TALKING or I should say listening to his subjects as time moved I have had a good life but mainly ordinary for the most part However Paul has been to places and been a part of some really amazing things in his life His time in the military his life time of trapping experiences both as a trapper and lure maker and dealer And than there is the Trapperman forums he in a major force in And of course he is a son of Charlie Dobbins Of course Paul has been a driving force in the trapping world in his own right But If you can say you knew Charlie you know he as a trapper and trapper industry one of a kind induvial He was always finding answers to questions that had not been ask but should have been important to know Alway searching for a better more humane way of catching and putting up fur Charlie had a really funny sense of humor He would come off with some really witty one liners as quick as he could say them And Paul is similar Even though he has made a mark on the trapping world he is always giving credit to the many that are involved in the same goal But are in the background and are often not mentioned for the good works that they do Paul is very serious about his goal of keeping trapping as a valuable way of controlling animal populations And he is aware of the many volunteers that do the hard work it takes to get it done BUT much like his Dad he generally does not take himself to serious If you don't believe me get a dog name her Emmy and take her to a trappers convention To find out where these conventions are planned look on Trappernan under Convention schedule.
