this trap would not be legal to set in many places , fully underwater would be a maybe in a few places

so perhaps stating , this is history , and would not be legal to set outside extremely specific sets in modern times. but revisionist history does no one any good.

that said I was just wondering the applications for this inverted and under ice

big spread , find a run way under clear ice and set so that the trap attaches to a board or something that closes the hole it only needs to hold whatever the quarry is for a couple minutes

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Evidently fur or pelt damage was not a big issue when these traps were in common usage.

A pic of that thing will be on the cover of a PITA Pamphlet before you know it!

I get it now. That would leave a mark if it sprung on your ankle.

I want one.

Back when I was a kid, neighbor had a much smaller versions (similar) of that he used in his barn for rats and pine squirrels. Peanut butter on the string and they were DOA.

Very interesting. Could have used that on a burglar that came in through my window many years ago!
