My old parka is too small. It was made by a Minnesota mushing gear company no longer in business. I’m looking for a lightly insulated anorak style long parka. The only ones I’ve found are from Hoghs Adventure in Minnesota, or the Apocolypse design ones in FBX that are way too heavy for me. I remember some from Posh House but they seem to be gone as well. Anyone have any other ideas?
I bought my last one at a yard sale in Bettles when the owner of the business had a life changing experience and changed gender and locale. It has a ratty dog fur ruff on it, which I always found a little amusing.

I just went with a wind Anorak from apocalypse design. Sized up just a tad to fit layers underneath and then use the grey Army parka to throw on over the anorak on the sled.

I also recommend Apocalypse Design (on Minnie Street in Fairbanks.)

Mine has served me well for nearly 40 years now! The ruffs (I make my own) have been the only thing I've had to replace.

I use Refridgaware. Can sometimes find them at value village in Fairbanks. otherwise AHI carries them. Just incase you don't have $600-$1000 to spend a warm coat.

Life is hard. It's even harder if your stupid!

You could move to Rural Alaska. Marry a local girl. She, or one of her relatives will make one for you. Worked for me!
Otherwise, I think there are women here who make outdoor clothing. Maybe some of the members know of 1 or 2.
