I went to a seminar with a shoulder surgeon and others of his team last night at our local hospital. The reverse replacement sounded like a better option because it wants to hold together. He also said have a person that does a lot of shoulders, not just any orthopedic surgeon.

I had a consultation with a shoulder guy... in a nut shell he said you never gain full mobility, you're limited to how much weight you can lift, especially with a reverse, no recoil from guns, and you'll probably be pain free...probably., also said any problems that develop, the revision surgery is a crapshoot.... My BIL does these operations in Minnesota, he advised not to do it unless you can't stand the pain anymore. Said the operation is extensive, with more risk then hips and knees, and the rehab is long.
I have bilateral hips and knees, no problems there, but shoulder replacements kinda scare me. I suffer with bone on bone shoulders daily, I get a steroid shot every 3 months which helps a little, but not considering the surgery .... now everyone is different and probably the majority of surgeries are successful enough, so you have to make that decision for yourself...and yes, find the best shoulder guy you can....
