While setting up some traps I stumbled on this. Close to one of my best artifact hunting spots but this caught me off guard. I believe a broken drill.

That is pretty good. I have yet to find much of artifacts and live among some of the best country for that.

Nice find. We used to hunt arrowheads and pottery all the time. These days with the sustainable farming the soil doesn't get turned over very often.

More and more of that here also. My best spot didn’t get turned over last fall. Can still find some but not near as much as when it’s plowed

Nice find. I believe it is a reworked knife. Drills have thinner bits with very little taper, except at the very tip.

These drills I found at the site near where I found this piece yesterday. Keith may be right, it has the look of a knife but it wouldn’t have been very big.

It never gets old finding artifacts,,, even broken ones,,, at a minimum,,, a particular artifact is at least a thousand years old…I also agree that it was probably a drill tip that you found… based on your previous findings.
My favorite piece is a Clovis I found 10 years ago,,, only one Ive ever found,,,I also have a few dalton points…
I don’t want to get into a debate over how old the earth is kinda stuff,,,
But Clovis points are estimated at 14,000 years old.
Dalton points around 9-8000.
I’ve found a few over the years
