DugK OP trapper D Joined: Dec 2020 West Virginia	With all the snow and ice we have had, l decided to try some snares. I scoured the archives and came up with a plan. I snared this beautiful 28.6lb cat. I have it skinned out, I think I am going to make a European mount with the skull.

DugK OP trapper D Joined: Dec 2020 West Virginia	Thanks Guys. I never have used snares to target specific animals, this is my first. The landowner is very happy, he is a big turkey hunter. Last year, he asked me to trap his property, 435 acres. He had a few rules and had the misconception of foot traps. He asked me to sell him a bobcat if I caught one. I caught two last year and gave him one. It’s at the taxidermist getting a full mount. We ended up becoming friends, he gave full access to his property to hunt/trap and to treat it like it’s mine. He learned that coil spring traps don’t break legs and just hold the animal . By end of the year he was going with me to check the traps. He learned a lot and now does not frown upon trapping. I got some excellent deer hunting property and I there is a 35 acre over grown field that holds rabbits for my hounds to chase. He likes going with me to listen to my beagles chase bunnies.

Just outside of Morgantown near the Pa. border.
