charles trapper C Joined: Aug 2010 Asheville, NC	I once maintained a large compost tumbler. I was amazed how fast fresh corn cobs were composted. Never tried any dry cobs. I added a large volume of peanut hulls and the shells from 75 pounds of pecans. All dissolved quickly. Nitrogen does not last long in the soil and usually needs to be added again during a growing season. Last edited by charles; 01/28/25 02:03 PM.
