Thank you everyone. Today was the first time I got shutout this season. Set out some dog proofs so hopefully my 10 year old grandson will get to see something this weekend

Talked to the head of the furbearer project that released the tagged coyote. He was released 25.6 miles away from where I caught him in December of 2023. He was the 71st one caught out of 142 released over the last 8 years.

Another first for me on the trap line yesterday morning.

He actually landed in the club house yard and let me pick him up. Made my morning for sure.

That's definitely interesting!

Congratulations on the catch , so I'm wondering if you skinned it for a rug or a full body mount with a framed picture of it in the trap and the paper telling the release data ? Or even a head and shoulder mount ?

You're friend along the snare line .

$3,000 for a coyote? WOW! Going to be hard for the braggarts to one-up that!

Congrats!

I gave the hide and head to a friend who wanted to do something with them. We have a live market here in SC so I normally take them there. I'm not much on mounting stuff. The only mounts I have are the first mallard I killed, hunting on my own, from 1985, the only decent buck I ever killed and the fans from my turkey royal slam.

Is the program successful? Do they have stats?

My best day on bobcats ever. First season actually targeting them. I never realized just how many we have.

My guess is it doesn't really add to the people who are trapping or hunting coyotes. I personally do it because I love it and to help my turkey population. I wouldn't take it up just on the chance I might catch a once in a lifetime animal. I imagine most people are the same way.
