Circural saws and carpentry related items I believe. Alot of folks have it, is there anything to combat it?

If you take a steady dosage of common aspirin over a course of time you will develop it too.

I see pop up ads often claiming" this one trick" cures tinnitus instantly... it's always a long video from a "doctor" who claims to found a cure....of course they're trying to sell you their miracle cure....

Like olden days snake oil salesman, if there was really a cure wouldn't the medical establishment know about it, lol, well maybe not, but still....

I have had it for years too, my wife likes to drive without the radio on , I need it on to keep from going crazy. I seem to have won this battle, we don’t have many battles though. I have a great wife.

Same here. Had it since I was in the army. Stupid ear plugs they give you fell out all the time, so you would end up shooting with no hearing protection much of the time. Had infantry AIT, really noticed it after that.
My ringing sounds like the constant singing of those high voltage towers if you were standing underneath them.

My wife wants me to wear a bracelet that belonged to her grandfather. It says, "Do Not Resuscitate".

Good posts and info....to me there is no reason why shooters/hunters should not be able to have the option to use a suppressor....are we not concerned about human health?

Maybe when RFK jr. gets confirmed we can push for a federal law making suppressors legal in all 50 states.

I've had it since my first year in the army, had a drill seargent pitch a grenade simulator that hit a pine branch and landed about 8 feet away from me while I was prone position . ai got 40 percent hearing loss also. Went to get hearing aides last spring and the doc told me go talk to the army. I got free hearing aids from them and now have free medical too.

I've had it a longtime. Mine kind of sounded like crickets so it wasn't too bad- just loud and constant. I heard nicotine helps. I wore a low dose patch for 6 days then stopped. It's better. Not gone but better. - I can hear the squirrels in the leaves better now. Nicotine is not addictive.

Just passin through

Hope you are getting your 10% disability for tinnitus. You earned it the hard way.
I'm fighting the va for a higher rating for my extreme hearing loss. I too have the right to hearing aids and free hearing tests and such.

Also, it's hard to put in earplugs or put on earmuffs when you have incoming rounds. Tinnitus and hearing loss is the number #1 VA disability for any branch of service.

Im deaf as a fence post. Got service connected for both tinnitus and hearing loss, 10% for the tinnitus, 0% for the hearing. Three different hearing tests, all of them show a 70+ decibel loss across the board, and the speech recognition at 75 or below. VA criteria, so I've been told is quite a bit lower than that for the decibel loss, and anything below 94% on the speech test is supposedly compensatible. On appeal right now, so we'll see before I hire a shyster, um lawyer to help out.

Keep fighting. I'm fighting them as we speak. A lawyer might be needed in the future. Even a 10% is worth thousands in long-term.

Been dealing with it since I came home from the 'Nam in '71. The instant I told that chatty tech at the VA I like to hint/fish I was screwed. mad The VA is having a big deal program to help Vets with it. Check with a Vet Rep at the VA or a VFW/Am Legion Post for details/help.

I basically just ignore it best I can, and try to keep some kind of cover noise on all the time, TV Radio etc.

Ya I’m rated at 10 percent for tinnitus and rated 0 for hearing. I’m at 69 decibel and at 75 also on recognition. Let me know on your Appel.
