I mentioned last year I was going to get a muley buck shoulder mounted for my son. The rack has been hanging in rafters and want to get it on the wall for him. He arrowed the buck on the ranch and was his mule buck taken with an arrow. I would like your opinion on what mount position you prefer and what action of mount you like. We have a couple of mounts but never have spent the money on them. We have the rafters full of some great horns that have been taken through the years. Any way it will be son's decision, but I really like the full sneak option. Show your mounts or give me your mount style or action of mount he like best. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/01/full-23688-246077-full_sneak.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/01/full-23688-246078-full_sneak1.jpg)

I like what they call in the taxidermy catalogs a semi sneak position. Ears in a relaxed pose, a turn to with ever suits where you want to put it. Pretty much like the top one you have pictured there. Don't really like the action type, rubbing or chewing or such, just a nice relaxed pose you can look at for hours and remember that animal. Thr guy that taught me sculpture taught me that, a good relaxed pose is nicer and easier to look at in the long run than one of those froze in time action things, sometimes that can work but most the time not too well

I like that first pic, that lower head gives you some clearance from the ceiling too... Yep!!! The horns on the one that is going to get mounted is >22 inches high from scull plate. So, that is one reason a full sneak might be better so it can be raised up more than a semi sneak to the celling. Bottom of mount would be <4 feet from floor without horns hitting celling. Thanks for pointing that out.

Lots of nice forms out there. Most important thing is having a good taxidermist do the mount.
