Just curios, he has written some solid books on Salvation in my opinion. Just curious if anyone else on here has read them.

Never read Andy of his books, but he preaches the Gospel.
Can't say I agree with his eschatological views. Or his Calvanistic views as well.

Well, wrong for me. I don't know what you believe. We all run our own race.
McArthur teaches a Kingdom Dominion theology. Adheres to Calvinism.

John Calvin-1500s
Arminius -1600s
These two are opposites. You can't believe in both of their teachings. Most modern Christian faiths (divisions/sects/franchises) are in one or the other of these camps.

I don't believe in either one.
The simple Christian believer walking the earth in,say 200AD had never heard of John Calvin or John McArthur or their commentary. Why should I.

But yes. Mc A does preach the Gospel.

Never read his stuff. I don't really know what is Calvinist thought is other than predestination. My thoughts though are that if you believe God is omniscient you may be a Calvinist???

He seems more than just a little arrogant, however, I agree with him on a lot of things; just not his hard-core Calvinist bent.

He is a believer in the good news of Jesus being the fulfillment of God's kingdom and of the prophets.
There can only be one truth. I don't believe anyone can interpret all of the Bible correctly. But misinterpretation
Is not a lie. It's a lack of understanding. Or a lack of knowledge. Jesus said unless we became as innocent as a child we can not enter the kingdom of God. This is very humbling. It seems that if someone teaches and claims what they are teaching is absolute truth then thy are not being very humble.
I believe this is why Paul said we must be convinced in our own mind, it's an issue of the heart.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is all that matters. Anyone that spreads the Truth of that message sincerely is doing God's work way I see it.

We Christians get too bent out of shape over the details; which for the most part, we can't even understand.

I can certainly see Calvin's point being that YHWH is omnipotent and the alpha and the omega. But I think Giant Sage is right, it is an issue of the heart.
