If you think combing cat fur towards the head is good, watch a fur buyer grade them that are like that. They will lay them flat on the table and try and push the fur towards the tail so they can see what is there. Might even have a mad look on their face. With the fur combed forward, towards the head, and they are looking at the pelt from head to tail, they are now looking into the length of hairs. They can't see what the fur has to offer and what they are looking for. I blow it forward like you said, then softly drop stretcher, tail down, on floor so fur stands straight out. Then hang up by the nose and fan it with a piece of cardboard until the belly fur is standing up and out from the center line and slightly down towards tail so when looked at from the head all of the hair length can be seen and the spots are showing themselves best. The back fur is then mostly straight up, but slightly pointed to tail. Then let the drying process finish.

Sage if i had your luck id hang up trapping and go hang out at the casino! Trapping has always been a gamble. Fortunately with a lot of heard work and persistents its been worth the risks. One addiction that has been a blessing for sure.

I have opinions on borax also. I have went from not knowing about it, to abusing it, to using it sparingly. Will let it go for now though. Lol.

I am still learning and listening to others, but have coyotes and cats fairly well figured out. Kind of like yourself at last years Prineville sale and learning more about otter put up. Enjoy your threads Carl.
